Protecting Brand Designs & IP

Protecting Brand Designs & IP protecting brand designs amp ip custom outerwear apparel manufacturer factory

Bottom Line: We safeguard your brand's intellectual property through a rigorous, multi-layered security protocol that mandates upfront Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) before file sharing, ensures restricted access to your digital Tech Packs and proprietary paper patterns, maintains supply chain confidentiality, and enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against reselling or white-labeling any branded rejects or overstock.

For medium to large-scale brands, intellectual property is your most valuable asset. At Five Oceans, we understand that your custom designs, tech packs, and proprietary fit specifications are the lifeblood of your business. We treat your IP with the highest level of strictness and confidentiality.

Our IP protection protocol is built into our daily operations, ensuring that your designs remain exclusively yours from the moment you share your first concept to the final shipment.

1. Legal Protection: Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)

Before you even share a tech pack, sketch, or physical reference sample, we are ready to sign a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This legally binds our factory to complete confidentiality. We routinely work with international brands—from the UK to North America—and are fully accustomed to complying with rigorous global IP standards.

2. Physical & Digital Security in the Factory

Your designs are protected both on our servers and on the factory floor:

  • Digital Access: Your tech packs, graded measurement charts, and digital CAD files are stored securely and are only accessible to the core technical team managing your project.
  • Proprietary Patterns: The paper patterns (纸样) developed by our pattern masters for your specific garments—whether it is a specialized sportswear fit or a complex technical jacket—are strictly categorized as your property. They are never repurposed for other clients.
  • Sample Room Control: Our sampling facility is a controlled environment. Visitors and unauthorized personnel are not permitted to photograph or handle your prototypes during the development phase.

3. Supply Chain Confidentiality

Producing technical outerwear often involves sourcing custom materials, such as specific DWR-coated fabrics or custom-molded zippers. When we negotiate with raw material mills and component suppliers on your behalf, we operate under strict confidentiality. We do not disclose your brand identity to sub-suppliers unless absolutely necessary for branded hardware (like customized zipper pullers or logo tags).

4. Strict Zero-Tolerance on “White-Labeling”

A common fear among brands is that factories will sell their overstock or rejected units to the open market. At Five Oceans, this never happens. Any defective units, B-grade products, or excess production samples that feature your brand’s logos or proprietary designs are either destroyed or handled exactly according to your specific disposal instructions. We never offer your custom designs as “white-label” or “open-market” blanks to other buyers.
